1. Overview
ScanBrain ("the App") is operated by SoftLog ("we", "us"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
2. Information you enter or import
The App allows you to import documents (such as receipts, contracts, IDs, and notes) and process them using on-device OCR. Your documents and any extracted text are stored locally on your device.
3. On-device processing
Text recognition and classification are performed on-device using Apple frameworks (Vision). We do not operate a backend service for your documents and we do not receive your scans by default.
4. Data storage
Your library is stored on-device using Apple's local storage frameworks (SwiftData) and is encrypted at rest via iOS Data Protection.
5. Purchases and transaction data
If you choose to make or restore an in-app purchase (including one-time purchases, subscriptions, or consumables), the transaction is processed by Apple using StoreKit. Apple may collect standard transaction information such as the product purchased, purchase date, and a transaction identifier. We do not collect or store sensitive financial information such as your payment card number, as payments are handled by Apple's secure App Store processing.
6. How purchase data is used
The App uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to verify and fulfill purchases (for example unlocking Pro features, activating subscriptions, or adding consumable scan credits), manage entitlements (e.g., whether Pro is unlocked, whether a subscription is active, and how many consumable credits remain), and enable restoration of purchases on the same Apple ID.
7. Monetization analytics
We may review aggregated sales and purchase reports provided by Apple (for example through App Store Connect) to understand which in-app purchases are popular and to track revenue. These reports are generally not tied to your identity within the App because the App does not require an account.
8. Third-party services
Apple is the primary third-party service involved in processing purchases (StoreKit / App Store). The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs. If we add additional services that process information, we will update this policy.
9. Data retention and deletion
Documents you import remain on your device until you delete them from within the App or uninstall the App. Purchase entitlements may be cached on-device for functionality. Apple retains transaction records according to its policies. We may retain aggregated sales reports for accounting and compliance purposes for as long as required by applicable law. If you contact support, we may retain support communications for a limited period to resolve issues and comply with legal obligations.
10. Your rights and choices
Because your documents are stored locally, you can access and delete them from within the App. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings, and you can request refunds or access purchase history through Apple.
