Privacy Policy — SafeScan

1. Overview

SafeScan ("the App") is operated by SoftLog ("we", "us"). This policy explains how product scans, profile details, and related information are handled when you use the App.

2. Health profile data stays on-device

Profile details such as allergies, skin type, pregnancy status, sensitivities, conditions, dietary restrictions, and manually entered medications are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly enable Apple-managed sync features.

3. Optional HealthKit access

If you choose to connect HealthKit, SafeScan requests read-only access only to the categories needed for the features you enable, such as allergy records or medications. You control whether that access is granted and can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.

4. Product scans and ingredient analysis

Barcodes, label photos, OCR text, parsed ingredient lists, scan history, favorites, and personalized safety results are processed on-device. We do not send this information to our own servers for analysis.

5. CloudKit sync

If optional iCloud sync is enabled for your product library, synced records are transmitted through Apple CloudKit infrastructure tied to your Apple ID. We do not operate or inspect that storage.

6. No analytics SDKs or ad trackers

SafeScan is designed without third-party analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or data broker integrations. We do not build behavioral profiles from your usage.

7. Purchases

Subscriptions, trials, and lifetime purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store payment card information.

8. Informational use

SafeScan provides ingredient information and personalized safety context for educational purposes. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
